For weeks, the ovens have been off, the counters have been cleared, and the builders have been busy.
But now, after a full refurbishment, the Harry Gow shop in Alness is ready to open its doors again on Wednesday, March 25!
And because this is Harry Gow, nothing's done by half measures, so the first 100 customers through the door will be treated to a free slice of cake.
A Fresh Look for a Familiar Favourite in Alness
For locals in Alness, Harry Gow isn’t new. We’re simply part of the furniture.
Morning rolls before work. A quick stop for a coffee. That “just one treat” that somehow becomes three.
So when it came to the shop, it wasn’t about changing it. Just taking care of what we’ve built.
The Alness shop’s been part of people’s day-to-day for years. And when a shop gets used like that, day in, day out, it needs a bit of TLC to keep it in good shape.
Not just freshening up how it looks, but improving how it works, by making it easier for the team behind the counter, and brighter for the people coming through the door.
Plus, we want to ensure we can stick around for the long run.
But don’t worry, you’ll still find the same friendly faces, and all your Harry Gow favourites front and centre.
Investing in Our Communities
Harry Gow has never been about chasing growth for the sake of it.
In fact, as a family-run bakery rooted in the Highlands, every investment, every shop, and every refurbishment is about the same thing: creating places that feel like they belong.
And the reopening of our Alness shop is just another part of that commitment.
Investing in local spaces, supporting local jobs, and making sure that whether you’re in Inverness, Dingwall, or Alness, you get the same quality, the same welcome, and the same standard of baking every single time.
It’s how Harry Gow has grown across the Highlands, and it’s why people keep coming back.
Opening Day in Alness
So, come along and join us on Wednesday, March 25.
And as our doors reopen, we’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces, maybe a few first-timers, and our team getting back into the swing of things.
Better still, for the first 100 customers through the door, there’ll be a free slice of cake to mark the occasion. It is a celebration after all.
So whether it’s your usual stop, or you’re just passing by, we’ll see you soon, Alness.
