New Sharing Cake Range answers years of customer demand for the Inverness bakery beyond the Highlands
For years, Harry Gow customers have asked the same question.
“When can we get this outside the Highlands?”
Now, the Inverness family bakery is answering.
Harry Gow Bakery has launched a new Sharing Cake Range in 50 Asda stores across Scotland, marking one of the biggest retail milestones in the company’s history.
The launch takes Harry Gow’s made-from-scratch cakes beyond its Highland heartland and into supermarket aisles across the country, giving more customers the chance to pick up a taste of the bakery as part of their weekly shop.
The move into Asda gives Harry Gow a bigger stage for what it already does best.
The cakes are still made from scratch, using quality ingredients and the same approach that has shaped the family bakery for generations. Now, for the first time, they will be available to customers across Scotland.
For many people, Harry Gow is more than a bakery. It is a familiar stop on trips north, a box brought home by family, a counter full of favourites, and a brand with the kind of dry humour and Highland character that has made its social media following as loyal as its shop customers.
The launch comes during a standout year for Harry Gow, after the bakery was named Scottish Baker of the Year 2026 for the third time. No other bakery has won the title twice. At this year’s awards, Harry Gow also won five of the 11 national product awards available.

“We’ve had customers asking us for years when they would be able to buy Harry Gow outside the Highlands.
“The challenge was finding the right opportunity to take Harry Gow further.
“We’ve always believed that if we put our name on something, it has to be done properly. That means no pre-mix, we still bake from scratch, we still care about the ingredients, and we still believe cake should taste like it came from a bakery, not a production line.
“Launching our new Sharing Cake Range with Asda Scotland is a huge moment for our family business. It means more people across Scotland can enjoy a taste of Harry Gow, while we continue doing things the way we always have.
“The cakes are made for sharing, but we suspect there may be a few friendly debates around who gets the last slice.”
The Asda launch is a major moment for Harry Gow and for Highland food and drink, taking a family business with 19 shops across the Highlands into stores across Scotland and giving more people the chance to discover what has made the bakery so well loved.
The move places Harry Gow firmly within a proud north of Scotland food story, showing that products rooted in place, family and tradition can reach a much wider audience without losing the quality, care and character that made people fall in love with them in the first place.
The new Sharing Cake Range includes three cakes: Harry Gow’s much-loved Vanilla Raspberry Slice, alongside two new flavours, Lemon and Butterscotch.
Created for sharing, the range brings scratch-baked sponge, rich flavours and bakery-quality standards to more homes across Scotland. The cakes will be sold at £4.25 and will be available to buy from the 23rd of July.
