Well, this was a bit of a pinch-us moment.
Harry Gow was part of Asda’s Scottish Parliamentary Reception at Holyrood this week, celebrating Scottish suppliers and businesses working with Asda across the country.
For a family bakery from Inverness, seeing the Harry Gow name alongside so many brilliant Scottish brands felt like quite something.
The event brought together suppliers, businesses and MSPs at the Scottish Parliament, with plenty of conversation around Scottish food, local producers and the businesses helping bring more Scottish products to shelves.
And yes, cake was involved.
Our Vanilla Raspberry Slices made their way into the event goodie bags, meaning a little piece of Harry Gow was heading home from Holyrood with guests at the end of the evening.
Which does mean that somewhere in Edinburgh, an MSP may well have had a Harry Gow cake in their bag.
The moment comes shortly after Harry Gow Sharing Cakes earned a permanent place in selected Asda Scotland stores, following a successful promotional period earlier this summer.
The range, which includes Vanilla Raspberry Slice, Lemon Slice and Butterscotch Slice, has helped bring Harry Gow beyond the Highlands and into cake aisles across Scotland.
For us, that is still a very big sentence.
From the Highlands to Holyrood, and now permanently in selected Asda Scotland stores, it has been a huge few months for the bakery.
A big thank you to Asda Scotland, Scottish Bakers and everyone who has helped support this next chapter for Harry Gow.
Still us. Still scratch-baking. Still Harry Gow.
Just now occasionally appearing in parliamentary goodie bags.
