At Harry Gow, we’ve always believed that great things start early. Great baking, great habits and, yes, great careers too. That’s why we were delighted to spend the day at Inverness Royal Academy’s Job Fair, meeting the next generation of bakers, baristas and customer service superstars.
And what a bunch they were.
From the moment the doors opened, we were chatting to pupils who were polite, switched-on and very interested in what it’s like to work for a local, family-run bakery.
H2: Future Talent, Fresh Conversations
With summer just around the corner, the job fair was a brilliant opportunity to connect with students looking for part-time and flexible work. Whether it’s earning some extra money over the holidays or picking up weekend and evening shifts once term starts again, Harry Gow offers roles that fit around school, college and life in general.
And on the day we chatted about everything from first jobs and customer service skills to progression opportunities and what it’s really like working in a busy Highland bakery. Spoiler: it involves teamwork, early mornings and the occasional temptation to “accidentally” squish a Dream Ring.
H2: Building Futures, One Conversation at a Time
Events like this are about more than filling vacancies. They’re about building relationships early, showing young people that local businesses can offer real opportunities, and helping them take those first steps into the world of work with confidence.
Recruitment remains a challenge across the Highlands, but days like this remind us just how much potential is out there.
