We've just announced a new deal for young people in Scotland. From the 3rd December 2018 all Young Scot Card holders will be offered 20% discount across their whole range in our Harry Gow shops across the Highlands.
Young Scot got in touch us after young people in the Highlands voiced their love for Harry Gow bakery and desire for more food discounts in the area. Young Scot consulted extensively with groups of young people from across the Highlands who were a variety of ages, and those young people said that they, and their friends, would like to have a discount at Harry Gow. We were delighted to hear this! The Highland Year of Young People Ambassadors also included an activity to generate ideas on where they would like to see Young Scot rewards and discounts and Harry Gow was the only food retailer mentioned by name by this group.
Fraser, Director at Harry Gow, stated ‘when you get an alert like this, where there are a number of voices asking, we want to listen and take action. We’re really pleased to hear that our scratch baking is so popular among young people in our local community and we hope the 20% discount will present a ‘thanks’ to those that visit our shops. We see this age group visiting during their lunch break and it’s handy that a number of our shops are in close proximity to schools. With a vast range of quality, healthy products from soup and sandwiches to pies, salad boxes and sweet treats, there is something for everyone’.
Louise Macdonald, Chief Executive of Young Scot, said: “The Young Scot card is an invaluable item in any young Scot’s pocket. It provides great discounts, rewards, and opportunities for them and young people tell us that discounts in their communities are so important to support local businesses. That’s why this new discount with local bakery chain Harry Gow is a great new offer for young people in the Highlands.”
